"7. Breeding method
The breeding goal is achieved through the method of pure breeding, which is open for horses of other populations whose inclusion is conducive to achieving the above objective, i.e. the inclusion of stallions and mares from other populations is acceptable.
Oldenburg horses are mating products of Oldenburg horses or of breeding horses of approved breeds, provided that these are registered in the Oldenburg Studbook. The breeds approved for the Oldenburg horse breed (mares and stallions), which are identified as such in the Studbook and, if applicable, on the animal breeding certificate, provided that they meet the performance requirements for the relevant classes of the Studbook:

Exceptions are pairings of Arabian thoroughbred (ox with ox) interbred, English thoroughbred (xx with xx) interbred (exception stallion in insemination), and Shagya Arabian interbred (ShA with ShA)."
