Materials UsedMy list of materials is below. Yes, there is a lot, so I tried to include where I used them so if someone wants to repeat my methods, you can. If you want to try your hand at doll room making, all you need to get started is a pair of scissors (ideally small and very sharp), some glue (tacky glue or craft bond are best), and maybe a pair of pliers or tweezers. A craft knife (such as an X-ACTO blade), cutting mat, ruler, and set of beading pliers are also very useful.

Years ago, I came across videos on YouTube of people making doll rooms from kits available online. After months of watching these videos, I decided to take the plunge and try out making a doll room for myself. My first attempt didn’t go very well – the lights didn’t work very well, wallpaper was peeling, and my miniature books were far from readable, but that didn’t stop me from trying again. My next attempt was a much bigger success and I wanted to figure out a way I could display these rooms better. It wasn’t long before I found out that the doll rooms are 1:32 scale and fit stablemate foals perfectly! This second attempt won me 4th place at the BreyerFest Youth show and won at Palmetto State Live in 2019. When I decided to attend Palmetto State Live in late 2020, I knew I had to make a holiday-themed Doll Room, this one was even better than my previous ones and once again, showed successfully and was just super fun to make – my boyfriend even helped make the adorable snowman included! This year, I decided I would challenge myself and make 2 doll rooms; not only that, but I decided to finally splurge and make the camper trailer that I always see people make on YouTube.
