Do not use my horses without my permission. Submitting a request is easy and I will work with you to make sure all the information is correct. You may even learn something new along the way! Note: I use a Windows Desktop PC and Surface Go to write up all my documents and for shortcuts. If you use a Mac or any device that is not a computer, the shortcuts mentioned may not work properly, if at all. Let me know if you need assistance with these documents and I may be able to help you or direct you to helpful articles. Use “Ctrl+F” to easily search and find what you’re looking for Thoroughbred-specific GuidelinesI will not do an embryo transfer or artificial insemination for any of my Thoroughbreds as this does not follow Thoroughbred breeding guidelines. Both stallions and mares are allowed to travel to another country if it does not conflict with competitions or existing breedings. Allowed traveling year(s) are listed in the horse’s information. If there are no allowed traveling years listed for a Thoroughbred, that horse cannot travel and can only cover/produce a foal in the US at our facilities. I plan on expanding my Thoroughbred program to be housed in other countries (primarily Japan and possibly Australia). Let me know if you are interested in these new horses and I can speed up the process. Color GuidelinesBelow is a link to a coat color calculator. I try to include color genetics for each of my horses. Please follow color genetics and guidelines as best as possible, I will let you know if there is anything wrong with the color genetics of your foal. I will also generate the color genetics of your foal and include it with your certificate and pedigree. https://www.animalgenetics.us/Equine/CCalculator1.asp# I will NOT breed any N/O horse to another N/O horse as there is a low probability of the foal surviving. Some breeds use different terms for colors. If you wish to use the breed-specific color names, refer to this website: http://www.kellas-stud.co.uk/colour.htm Basic Color Genetics: http://www.lattefarms.com/colorgenetics.html This link summarizes a lot of the known genes that alter color, patter, white ticking, etc.: https://vgl.ucdavis.edu/resources/horse-coat-color Quick reference chart with picture examples: http://paintedbarstables.com/documents/equine_coat_colors_and_genetics.pdf Not all colors are yet explained fully by genetics. For these colors/patterns/dilutes, I do not list any geneotypes (genetic writeup, such as Ee/Aa) for that specific phenotype (the visible color shown, such as Bay). As we learn more about these colors, I will update my website and this document, as well as horses’ geneotypes, to reflect the new information Fantasy and Unrealistic BreedingsI do accept fantasy breedings from my non-fantasy equines. There is a chart that explains how to assign color genetics to fantasy horses on my website. I am not aware of who originally created this document.
My own fantasy breeding website can be found here: https://ssfantasyequine.weebly.com/ Home of the Blue Appalachia Horse! Zovi Stables has a very well made and detailed guide to fantasy breeds and characteristics. If you are having trouble with assigning the right breed for your fantasy friend, check out this page: https://zovi.weebly.com/fantasy-breeds.html
